Mail.box compaction

By Default Domino will compact the mail.box @ 4 AM everyday and this is something that you want to occur. The 4AM value can be changed using the following INI parameter:

MailCompactHour= 0 to 23 0 being 12 AM and 23 being 11 PM

It is not advised to disable this. However I do note that you have only 1 MAIL.box on the server and would suggest adding a 2nd & possibly 3rd Mail box on the server. To do this you would open your Server Config Document:

Then bring down the Domino Server, remove the current mail.box and when restarted you will now have a mail1.box and mail2.box. You will want to keep a copy of the mail.box and ensure there are no current messages in it. If there are copy these out of the old mail.box and into the new one.

This does require a Domino Server restart to take effect.

If you need assistance please open a ticket with IBM Support and we would be glad to walk you through these steps.
